LEZ Compliant Solution
Between 2018 and 2020 Low Emission Zones (LEZ) are being introduced to Scotland's four biggest cities, Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The Scottish Government are helping taxi drivers meet LEZ standards to protect public health through improved air quality.

COSTS
What's included?
Brand new 2.0L turbo petrol/LPG engine featuring our latest GEN3 system, cooling system, exhaust, catalytic converter, radiator, full tank of LPG and Petrol, testing, wheelchair ramp cover, tyre repair kit, 2year/80k mile warranty. Plus, we'll take care of all the paperwork, registering the conversion with the UKLPG and sending off the amended V5 document to the DVLA.
Air conditioning is not currently available (see FAQs).

1ST GENERATION (2016 - 2017)
65 cabs were converted in Birmingham as part of a National Trial.
2ND GENERATION (2017 - 2021)
Following the successful trial, the product was upgraded for a national rollout. The engine was rebuilt by hand, with the installation of dedicated LPG valve seats for lifetime durability.
3RD GENERATION (June 2021)
GEN3 is launched with major enhancements to the LPG system, software and performance.
Benefits include an improved fuel economy (LPG & Petrol), even quieter and smoother drive, greater throttle response, new radiator (no cap), reduced engine temperature (by 10°C), widely available servicing components, full EOBD diagnostic plug in for system access (e.g. AA/RAC).

Eligibility Criteria

Available for TXII or TX4 models that are less than 13 years old (14/15yr old cabs considered in special cases).

Must be a current, wheelchair accessible taxi, frequently operating in city centre areas of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Dundee.

Taxi has been licensed by the owner for at least 12 months.

Not currently at Euro 6 standard.

Non-VAT registered businesses only (9 employees or less)
Note: if taxi is not an LTI/LTC TXII or TX4, or is over 13 years old, it may be possible to exchange taxi for an eligible taxi in order to obtain the grant. Further terms apply.

Next Steps
DEPOSIT
A £1,000 booking deposit is made to Vehicle Repowering Solutions.
The deposit is fully refundable should you wish to cancel.



ASSEMBLY
The installation centre will arrange a convenient date for your conversion.
On the agreed date, the vehicle will need to be brought to the conversion centre.
The remaining balance (less the grant amount) is payable to VRS on/before your arrival.



COMPLETION
When the repowering has been completed, the cab will be ready for collection.
The installation centre will provide a demonstration on how the system operates and how to refuel.



GRANT PAYMENT
Transport Scotland pay the grant directly to VRS.
The installation centre will prepare the relevant paperwork (such as the Schedule 2 form) for you to sign.



VRS register the conversion with the UKLPG and provide all of the documentation that you need to send to the DVLA along with your V5 log book.
